Trident Sustainability Group announces new LEED certifications – Clarendon Hospital Addition in Manning, SC.

The Clarendon Hospital Addition is a 47,000 square foot addition to the existing Clarendon Hospital. The $22.5 million project has two floors and includes a new surgery department with three operating rooms, two procedure rooms and recovery bays on the first floor, and is the new home of the outpatient surgery department.

The Clarendon Hospital Addition features a number of energy and water saving features. A new energy plant with high efficiency chillers and boiler, and ventilation units with energy recovery provide comfort and savings, while low flow plumbing fixtures reduce water consumption by 40%. Low VOC sealants, adhesives and finishes as well as MERV 13 air filtration media provide excellent indoor air quality.

“Green buildings always make sense, but doubly so for hospitals and health care”, said Tommy Linstroth, Principal of Trident Sustainability Group. “With a LEED certified hospital, you’re already thinking about the patients’ well-being before they even set a foot through the door.”
