Trident Sustainability Group announces a new LEED certification – Penn Jersey Headquarters and Distribution Center in Philadelphia, PA.

The Penn Jersey project achieved LEED Silver certification from the US Green Building Council, and is the fifth LEED certified industrial project for owners DP Partners. Trident Sustainability Group served as the LEED consultant for this and each of DP Partners LEED projects, including the two LogistiPort warehouses in Pooler, GA. Read more

Journeyman Austin/Hutchinson Hotel Holdings, the designated developer for the Trade Center Hotel, announces that Tommy Linstroth of Trident Sustainability Group will serve as a LEED consultant on the proposed convention center hotel on Hutchinson Island.

Trident Sustainability Group funds the BRIAN S. BOYLSTON SCHOLARSHIP FOR SUSTAINABILITY

The scholarship is offered to full-time Design for Sustainability students in the Savannah College of Art and Design’s (SCAD) MA and MFA programs. The $500 scholarship is intended to award innovative thinking and action in the realm of sustainability. Trident Sustainability Group has committed to matching the funding for at least 5 years.

“The Design for Sustainability program at SCAD is a great stepping stone for people interested in sustainability, whether in architecture, industrial design or fashion”, said Tommy Linstroth, Principal of Trident Sustainability Group. “Being able to help keep this scholarship in place and hopefully expand its effect and outreach was pretty much a no-brainer.”

Trident Sustainability Group announces a new LEED certification – Effingham Career Academy in Rincon, GA.

The Effingham Career Academy achieved LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council, and is the Effingham Board of Education’s first LEED certified project, as well as the first public school in the region to achieve LEED certification. Trident Sustainability Group served as the LEED consultant for the project.

The new school provides an opportunity to learn career skills for students, who can now do so in a green environment. Numerous sustainable features were included such as a 30 kw solar system, low flow plumbing fixtures, super efficient lighting tied to occupancy sensors, and low emitting finishes were used throughout.

“Green schools should be a no-brainer – students are in a better learning environment, and ongoing costs are much lower”, said Tommy Linstroth, Principal of Trident Sustainability Group. “Achieving Gold certification was certainly above what was expected. My hat is off to the Effingham School Board for taking a leadership position for high-performance, healthy school buildings for our children.”

The architect for the project was JW Buckley and Associates, and the general contractor was Lavender and Associates.

Trident Sustainability Group announces a new LEED certification – Effingham County Courthouse in Springfield, GA.

The Effingham County Courthouse achieved LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council, and is the County of Effingham’s first LEED certified project. Trident Sustainability Group served as the LEED consultant for the project.

The Courthouse is a historic structure brought back to life with a sustainable flair. Numerous sustainable features were included such as a high efficiency VRV HVAC system, low flow plumbing fixtures, super efficient lighting tied to occupancy sensors, and low emitting finishes were used throughout.

“It was exciting to be involved in such a dynamic project”, said Tommy Linstroth, Principal of Trident Sustainability Group. “Achieving Gold certification was certainly above what was expected. And to earn it while maintaining the historical integrity of the project goes to show that LEED and historic preservation go hand in hand.”

The project team consisted of architecture firm HGBD, engineering firm Dulohery Weeks, and general contractor JT Turner.
