Neighborhood Development

Creating a sustainable neighborhood or community is arduous task that often can last for years. Whether your site is 1 acre or 1000, Trident Sustainability Group can help you create a sustainable community plan and earn LEED for Neighborhood Development certification. The LEED for Neighborhood Development Rating System integrates the principles of smart growth, urbanism and green building into the first national system for neighborhood design.

LEED ND focuses on site selection and development, neighborhood connectivity and area amenities, jobs and housing, and green building design. TSG has worked with LEED ND since the pilot was released, actively managing one of the first affordable housing projects in the program. TSG can also provide site analysis for compatibility for LEED ND certification and competitive analysis of LEED ND vs other community certification (Earthcraft communities, Enterprise Green Communities, etc) systems to see which is appropriate for your project needs.

Earthcraft Communities

EarthCraft Communities offers holistic approaches to development for rural, suburban or urban projects located in the Southeast. The EarthCraft Communities program addresses low-impact development, site selection, land disturbance, water quality and quantity management, energy, transportation infrastructure, community design, green space preservation and more. In addition, all buildings within an EarthCraft Community must be certified through the EarthCraft House, Multifamily or Light Commercial programs.

Trident Sustainability Group can offer assistance in creating neighborhood plans which conform with Earthcraft Communities, as we’ve done on numerous projects throughout the Southeast.
